Ian Goodman replied 5 months ago Thanks King :) Housesteads in Northumberland, North England. Hadrian's Wall runs the width of England and was once 20ft high, A fort used to stand behind the trees on the right. It must have looked spectacular in Roman times. There is some fantastic scenery all along the wall and a popular coast to coast national hiking trail, so pretty well photographed, always room for one more from me lol :) King Douglas replied 5 months ago Thanks, Ian. This is now on my list of places to visit...do you happen to know the coordinates of your camera position here? Not kidding, actually. I always take my GPS with me when I travel. Ian Goodman replied 5 months ago Google Earth has it at - Latitude: 55° 0'44.13"N Longitude: 2°20'28.01"W The shot was taken facing east. I have a snap facing west from earlier in the day when I was hiking, I don't mind mailing it to you :) it's worth walking a few miles in either direction for great views. The trails are easy going, well marked and maintained. The area is at the base of the Northumberland National Park, bordering Scotland, it's also about an hour and half's drive from the Lake District (in the west) which is a must see for beautiful english countryside. Hiring a Cottage in the Lake District for a few days is wonderful :) Jeremy Russell wrote 5 months ago Gorgeous shot Ian. Lovely tones and feel and the comp is fabulous. Love the flow here. A wonderful image, like it a lot! all the best Codrin Carola Lundmark wrote 5 months ago Lovely landscape. The way that the stonewall is making my eyes travel into the picture is great. Best regards Carola Tracy Martin wrote 5 months ago Except for the foreground it looks like a miniature landscape or an illustration, a very lovely unreal look.
