Daria wrote 3 months ago Awesome location! and I love this "raw" editing, i think it suits perfectly for shots like this one :) HenriAntoine wrote 3 months ago I don't like the technique at all, I find it very tacky, but that is not important perhaps. It's well done for sure, you are good at it. I think that this is more graphic art than it is the photography lying behind it. It's a choice and people love it so congrats! Bjørn P. replied 3 months ago Thank you HenriAntoine for your feedback - even if it's a critical one ... I really appreciate your words ... I think this kind of editing is in first case a matter of taste - not everyone likes HDR ... and it's O.K. ... for me it's a fascinating technique - I love the microcontrast and all those little details which can be uncovered ... and yes - maybe you can call it graphic art, but hey - this is digital photography and I think it's already graphic art if you start editing a photo ... that's my opinion ... of course some people don't like it if the editing starts to get more intense - but as stated above - it's a matter of taste ... but one point I disagree with you: the photography behind it is as important [if not even more important] as it is for taking a "normal" photo ... I have to take care about composition and light and everything even if I would take a "normal" photo ... the editing is important for me too - I have the final picture in mind before I take the shot ... so I have to take care on the same basics as all other photographers too. HenriAntoine replied 3 months ago Agree Bjoern, that part remains essential and I can imagine that it must be quite exciting to look for a composition and subject matter that really work with HDR. Cheers Bjørn P. replied 3 months ago Yes it does ... it's very important to take care of it because not everything works with HDR ... I use it not only as "effect" - but I think it suits very well for such locations ... Bjørn P. replied 3 months ago Thanks for the kind feedback ... yes - I did some post processing ... first making a HDR ... post processing (BW conversion, gradient curves, contrast technique) with Photoshop CS3 ... it's is not everyone's taste - but I like it the way it looks now ... and I am glad you and others like it too. Mal Smart wrote 3 months ago there were some small details that I really liked in screening, that reflection in the windows top left of shot appealed to me and the processing choices really suit this scene. mal Bjørn P. replied 3 months ago Thank you Mal for your continuous support and feedback! I appreciate it! greate HDR, greate location, greate edit and finally a greate picture... Carola Lundmark wrote 3 months ago Great composition and delicious postprosessing work!!Love the rough feeling Best regards Carola Kevin Bergen wrote 3 months ago Yay! I voted to have this shot approved, and I'm so glad it was. I really liked the HDR, the contrast, and the sepia shading (not to mention the great subject matter!). |
